The first steps to succeeding well in life

In the article I wrote on Medium about MINDSET, the mental attitude, I reminded you that recognizing that YOUR MINDSET can enable you to transform your life and will lead you to the success you deserve.

The first steps to be taken are:

a) Become aware: you now have the knowledge that intelligence can be developed and that there is scientific data confirming the benefits of having a dynamic mindset.
If you want to explore the topic of mindset with a book in Italian, I recommend reading Carol Dweck’s: Mindset. Changing mindset to achieve success

(b) Listen to yourself (and talk to yourself). As Dweck advises, when you realize that in different situations it is your static mindset voice speaking, dialogue with her with your dynamic mindset and remind her that you can learn how to do things, you can change, you can improve.

(c) Act. It is not enough to think you can do it. You also need to take action , commitment and experience are key.

How to start taking action? I advise you to start with avery simple approach, without trying or creating mental complications for yourself, to focus mainly on taking action.

It means starting with the simple things you can introduce, step by step, into your life.

FEELING WELL AND SHAPE is the physiological basis on which to act and improve. And then, of course, there is psychological well-being.

  1. Breathe well

    Breathing is critical.
I am a diving instructor, and one of the first things I point out, in order to stay focused and relaxed underwater, is the importance of breathing. Breathe slowly and deeply.

  2. MOVE

Moving, even a few minutes, completely changes the course of your thoughts. Take a 15-30 minute walk on your lunch break instead of spending an hour at the table and instead of continuing to work with poor results.

There are also many other ways to get moving throughout the day. There are even apps that remind you that it’s time to get up and stretch your legs, instead of being glued to the computer (e.g.,, Stand Up! The Work Break Timer for IoS devices, Break reminder for Android devices).

  3. And then… STUDY, READ, MEDITATE, EXPERIENCE, LEARN from others (and with others, if you want).

Don’t give up learning, even if you are 90 years old. Keeping your brain exercised helps keep it active and young and prevent some diseases.

These are the first steps you can and want to take, to start taking ACTION.

Aim for the sky, but move quietly, enjoying each step along the way.
It is all these small steps, one by one, that complete your journey.
